Challenge: During Super bowl lix in New Orleans, visa and chase wanted to showcase small business owners by having them interact with famous athletes in fun ways. They enlisted the help of monks to produce, who brought me on as content creator to capture the fun.
The "Visa small business clubhouse presented by chase ink" was born at "The Super Bowl Experience: The Ultimate Fan Event" at the the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, which transformed into a 700,000-square-foot football theme park, offering immersive games, player autographs, interactive exhibits, and exclusive merchandise.
We partnered with NFL superstars Bijan Robinson, Jayden Daniels and Victor Cruz and devised fun interactive games for them to play with local business owners.
The challenge level was increased by the practical limitations. We only had 30 minutes with each athlete, and we could not control the noisy crowds surrounding the clubhouse. To be timely for the super bowl, all three 1-2 minute episodes had to be published in near real-time. There was zero room for error. how to best capture these moments during the live event for instagram reels?
Solution: With social native publishing in mind, I used the latest iphone 16 pro and shot vertically to optimize framing for instagram reels. I shot 4k 30fps. I used LED light banks for a bright wash to help balance the house lights and a mix of lavs + boom mic to isolate dialogue in the noisy environment. I then edited the three series within 24hrs to ensure timely reviews and publishing. This was an exhilarating and fun challenge. You can really feel the live event energy, and it felt great to bring attention to small business owners.
